One person has died due to an elephant attack in Makwanpur. 56-year-old Kale Bahadur Rai of Pratappur of the same ward died in the forest of Chitwan Rashtriya Nikunj located in Manhari rural municipality-6.

3 people including him on Thursday Deputy Superintendent of Police Lakshmi Bhandari of the District Police Office informed that Rai died when an elephant attacked him while he was grazing buffaloes in the park.

Two people who went to shepherd with Rai managed to escape. The two people who managed to escape and save their lives informed the new Sabuj Gana Bunker Post of the Nepali Army assigned to protect Nikunj at Sunachuri Makwanpur.

The army informed the police on Friday. 4 people have died in Makwanpur due to elephant attack in 11 months of the current financial year. The police said that 5 people were injured during this period.

Elephants have damaged nine houses and barns in Makwanpur in 11 months.
