A joint patrol team of the armed police and the forest seized the sal bullets that were being taken by the smugglers in the Simri area of Gujra municipality-3 of Rautahat on Wednesday.
Armed Police SP Bikram Humagain said that a joint team deployed from Nepal Security Base Laxminia and Sub-Division Forest Office Junglesahiya has recovered 12 pellets of firewood from the forest near Dhansar river on the border of Rautahat and Bara. It is not certain who and where the wood is going to be taken.
Wood has been smuggled in that area for a long time. It is being accused of smuggling wood in collusion with the forest staff.
Shailendra Mishra, divisional forest officer, claimed that the allegation that smuggling is done in connivance with the forest staff is false. The forest staff said that the market value of the wood recovered on Wednesday is 185,000.
