Agriculture Minister Ramnath Adhikari said that there have been complaints about embezzlement of direct subsidies since the beginning. He said that there is a plan to link agricultural subsidies with farmer listing classification to make agricultural subsidies effective and accessible to all. He said that coordination will be done with the government at the same level to prevent duplication in agricultural subsidies.

After taking over the ministry, the Minister Adhikari had also been saying that he would take away the subsidy and publish the list of abusers.
