The Trishuli 3B Hub 220/132/33 KV substation constructed at Pahrebensi in Kispang rural municipality of Nuwakot has been inaugurated under the Chilime-Trishuli 220 KV transmission system project. As part of the project's corporate social responsibility, the 33/11 KV electricity distribution substation constructed in Valche of Kispang Rural Municipality was also inaugurated.

Energy Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet and European Commission Deputy Director General for International Partnerships Miriam Ferron, European Union (EU) Ambassador Veronique Lorenzo, German Ambassador Thomas Prinz and European Investment Bank (EIB) Director Thouraya Tricky jointly inaugurated the Trishuli 3B Hub and Valche on Friday. The substation has been inaugurated.

The cost of Trishuli 3B Hub substation, built on about 104 ropani land, is 1 billion 97 crore rupees . Trishuli-Kathmandu 220kV transmission line is connected to Trishuli 3B Hub Substation with Matatirtha Substation .

Valche substation and Trishuli 3B hub-Valche 33 KV transmission line along with the cost of neighborhood electrification program is 42 crore 93 lakh rupees . Nuwakot and Rasuwa District 33 and 11 KV lines and distribution substations have been constructed through neighborhood electrification program to expand electricity access and supply in a reliable and quality manner. More than 2 thousand households in Nuwakot and Rasuwa have benefited from this.

At the opening ceremony, Minister Basnetal said that an important step has been added by the construction of substations not only for the electricity produced by the hydropower projects in the Trishuli river catchment area, but also for the management of the country's electricity system as a whole. In order to meet the target of 28,000 megawatts of electricity production within the next 12 years, Minister Basnet mentioned that policy, legal and structural reforms have been started to make the production, transmission and distribution sectors investment-friendly. He mentioned that the government, local community, foreign and private sector investment in the hydropower sector will be promoted in a coordinated manner.

European Commission Deputy Director-General Ferran said that substations are important for increasing the production of renewable green energy to deal with the problems created by climate change . German Ambassador Thomas Prinz informed that 70 million Euros subsidy is going to be given to bring the clean green energy produced to consumers' homes.

The executive director of the authority, Kulman Ghising, urged the European Union and its member states to invest in the infrastructure of this sector for the sustainable development of Nepal's green energy. He in order to meet the target of 28,000 megawatts of electricity generation in the next 12 years, about 46 billion U.S. dollars are needed in the infrastructure for production, transmission and distribution, and asked for investment.
