Pre-Budget proposal submitted to Parliament

In order to collect the suggestions given by the parliamentarians for the preparation of the budget, the government has put the pre-budget proposal in the parliament three months before bringing the budget. For this, the government brought an ordinance and made a legal arrangement.

In the previous years, after the budget was prepared, the parliamentarians were discussing the pre-budget in the parliament . The parliamentarians of the government and the opposition have been opposing the budget and ministerial allocations saying that the issues they have raised have not been included in the budget.

While presenting the budget for the current financial year, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal promised to hold the pre-budget discussion for the next financial year in February itself and to cover the issues raised by the parliamentarians. Finance Minister Mahat said that according to the same commitment, the government has brought a pre-budget proposal. The government has said that the budget will be discussed in the parliament based on the principles and priorities of the budget, and the budget will be prepared by including the discussions made by the parliamentarians.

The agenda has been set for MPs to discuss the pre-budget proposal submitted to the parliament from February 21 on a party basis . Speaker Devraj Ghimire has been informed that the pre-budget discussions have been scheduled for February 21, 22, 23, 30 Chaitra 1, 2 and 4.
