Paudel also said that due to the increase in the number of students, the school administration is discussing with the school management committee about conducting classes in two shifts, morning and afternoon. Darbar High School has been teaching from pre-primary to class 12. 85 students from this school have participated in SEE this year. 143 students were enrolled in the school in 2076. Since then, the number of students has increased significantly. With the increase in the number of students, the school has also been expanding the class capacity. 335 students were enrolled in 2077, 518 students in 2078, 491 students in 2079 and 693 students in 2080.
As the number of students is increasing every year, the school has set the number of seats for 750 students for the new academic session of 2081. In which the number of applicants has reached 771. In 2078, the number decreased in 2079 as all the students enrolled in online classes did not attend physical classes. The school has 25 teachers from ECD to Class 12 and has hired 6 more teachers from private sources. Prof. Poudel said that the school is collecting voluntary support from parents at the rate of 500 per month for other expenses including teachers from private sources. "As the number of students is increasing, efforts are being made to conduct morning sessions for classes 9 to 12 and daytime sessions for ECD to 8 classes," she said.
Former head of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Education Department Ram Prasad Subedi said that the lost reputation of Darbar High School has been returning for the last 5 years. He said that the school has taken leaps and bounds due to the policies and programs of the metropolis, principals and teachers. The metropolis gave priority by investing in developing it as a national level school.
