Election top priority of NC: Sushil Koirala
BHADRAPUR, MAR 01 - Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said new election to the Constituent Assembly was the top priority of his party.
Talking to media persons briefly at Bhadrapur Airport on Friday, he said the nation would get an outlet from existing crisis after the election.
"A meeting held among the top leaders of major political parties on the matters of forming new government this morning was positive", he added.
The Congress President said he was hopeful that the Chief Justice himself would address the doubts being raised from different quarters about the untoward impact of CJ-led government on principle of separation of powers.
Responding to journalists' queries, he said discussions being held at the political-level about the issues of citizenship and formation of the truth and reconciliation commission would reach to a conclusion soon.
The Congress has already geared up for the fresh election with the plan of holding the election within mid-June.
Party senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said he had full agreement on the party decision on the present political matters of the country.
Party general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula was also present on the occasion.
The Congress President was here to inaugurate the fourth national convention of party affiliated- Nepal Dalits Association beginning from Saturday in Birtamod.
